The College of Business and Law (CBL) comprises Bristol Business School (one of the leading post-1992 university centres for research in the fields of business, management and employment) and Bristol Law School. Both Schools emphasise research as a core activity.
We support a thriving and vibrant research community with over 100 academic and research staff, renowned experts within their respective fields and nearly 100 PhD students.
Our research values are to promote innovative and collaborative research activity with a high level of commitment to theoretical development and empirical research that has practical relevance to the needs of business and the wider community.

Re-distributed Manufacturing in Healthcare Network (RiHN)
Research resources
The Intervention Initiative is a free resource with an educational toolkit to be used by universities and colleges for the prevention of sexual coercion and domestic abuse in university settings. It was commissioned by Public Health England (PHE) and its development was funded by PHE and UWE Bristol. The original research team at UWE Bristol was comprised of Dr Rachel Fenton, Dr Helen Mott, Professor Phil Rumney and Dr Kieran McCartan. We are grateful to Dr Justin Varney from PHE for his support.

Research and knowledge exchange
The College's research centres and groups provide a strong focus for research and links to Knowledge Exchange (KE) and teaching/learning. Accordingly, the College is well placed to develop greater strength in terms of business interaction and applied research, integrated with KE activity. This is very much in line with the increasing emphasis on business performance and engagement linked to government funding streams.
We have a strong track record of securing prestigious research grants from research councils such as the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), as well as research and consultancy from the UK Government Departments, the EU and a wide range of private, public and voluntary sector stakeholders.
