How to book a doctors appointment, including information for the University Health Centre.
What you need to do

Step 1
You will need to register with a doctor before you can book an appointment. You can register at the University Health Centre on Frenchay Campus or choose another practice.

Step 2
University Health Centre
If you're registered at the Health Centre you can get in contact:
- online using our klinik system
- in person by visiting the Health Centre in N Block.
Find the address and contact details for the Health Centre.
If you're registered at another surgery, you can find contact details on the NHS website.

Step 3
Please give your surgery as much notice as possible if you need to amend or cancel an appointment.
University Health Centre
If you're registered at the University Health Centre you can cancel or amend your appointment:
If you're registered at a different surgery, search for your surgery's contact details on the NHS website.
Types of appointment
Urgent appointments
If you need an urgent appointment, please submit a request through our online system, klinik. Once we receive your request, one of our Care Navigators will contact you.
You may be offered:
- an in-person appointment on the day at the University Health Centre or Old School Surgery in Fishponds
- a telephone consultation with a clinician.

Routine appointments
You can submit a request for a routine appointment with the Health Centre through klinik.
Once we receive your request, one of our Care Navigators will contact you via:
- text message, with a link allowing you to book an appointment yourself
- by telephone to arrange an appointment with you.
Routine appointments at the Old School Surgery
Outside of term time, when the Health Centre is closed, you can book a routine appointment up to two weeks in advance at the Old School Surgery.
You can also book there if you live in Fishponds.
