Security services

Security across University sites is provided by in-house staff and contracted security services.

Services provided includes mobile and foot patrols, a 24-hour control room which monitors CCTV cameras and management of electronic access control and alarm systems. A full-time police officer is also an integrated operational member of the security team, providing valuable support and liaison with local police forces.

The Security team can advise you on all aspects of crime prevention and will investigate crimes carried out at UWE Bristol. If you need to summon emergency assistance or report suspicious persons/incidents, you should ring the security control room, which is manned 24 hours per day on +44 (0)117 32 86404.

Access control and keys

Access control and key provision for University accommodation is administered by Accommodation Services. You will be provided with an access card or fob and/or keys when you arrive.

Always report lost or stolen access cards, fobs or keys to the Customer Service Desk as soon as you realise they are missing. Replacement cards, fobs and keys may be charged for and invoiced through your 'My UWE' portal.
