CORONAVIRUS ADVICE

All the up-to-date information.

Summer Schools are short-term immersive packages that combine subject-specific tuition and social activities. They are a great opportunity to gain specialist knowledge, grow your confidence and experience a new culture – without having to commit to spending a semester or whole year abroad.

Students that spend time abroad develop intercultural competence – the ability to work well with people from different cultures – a skill that is highly valued by employers.

Current summer school opportunities

Due to the current disruption associated with the Covid-19 global pandemic we are unable to support summer schools during summer 2020.

Most opportunities are open to students regardless of their area of study, and some institutions offer UWE Bristol students exclusive discounts or fee waivers. Please note that you may be eligible for the UWE Bristol Employability Bursary if you currently reside in a household with an income of £25,000 or less. This bursary offers £1000 towards a Summer School experience.

Please also take into consideration that each Summer School will vary in regard to what is included in the costs. For example some may include accommodation, food and travel passes. Note that none of the Summer Schools will include flights to and from the destination.

Please contact the Study Abroad Team on Studyabroad@uwe.ac.uk for more information before applying for a Summer School as we may have access to extra discounts.
