The UWE Singers is the University's biggest choir.
About UWE Singers
No audition is required but experience singing in a choir will be valuable! More important, however, is your commitment and enjoyment of singing. Under the leadership of experienced and passionate choral director Elinor Cooper you will perform at great venues and work with inspiring artists and other choirs. Before the main rehearsal we run a special students-only session with Elinor to prepare solos and develop technique.
Performances have included:
- UWE Bristol Christmas Concert, Bristol Cathedral
- Workshop with Bristol’s fabulous Sing Out Choir
- Workshop with the inspirational Paul Whittaker O.B.E.
- Festival of Sound at the Colston Hall
Our repertoire has included:
- Five Negro Spirituals - Tippett
- Can You Hear Me – Chilcott
- A Little Jazz Suite – Chilcott
"The Centre for Music provided me with a means to make friends outside of my course’s cohort and also provided me with professional tutoring, which radically improved my singing skills and helped me improve my confidence in musical performance."
