About the event
This session, aimed at early childhood students, practitioners and academics, will showcase two examples of research which aimed to explore creativity in early childhood. There will also be time for networking, discussing research ideas and opportunities, and being creative.
Featured talks:
- Creative encounters – Dr Zoe Lewis (Birmingham City University).
In this talk, we will explore multiple possibilities for understanding creativity in early years education. Zoe will share the findings of her doctoral research in an art gallery and forest school setting, using a new materialist lens to think differently about what creativity is and how it is produced. - Exploring expressive creativity with babies – Emily Smith (Little Foxes Forest School) with Melissa Arrowsmith (UWE Bristol).
This talk will take an ‘in conversation’ format to explore Emily’s experience of researching creativity with babies as UWE Bristol postgraduate student and an Early Years Teacher at Little Foxes Forest School in Bristol.
