International visitors

UWE Bristol warmly welcomes international delegations from around the world throughout the academic year. These visits help us to build stronger connections with colleagues and partners across the world.

Whether you are supporting future students, exploring partnership opportunities, or considering studying with us, we look forward to meeting you and sharing what makes our university a vibrant inspiring place to learn and grow.

Ways to visit us

There are many ways to visit our campus in-person or from the comfort of your home country.

External partners and agencies

We coordinate pre-scheduled visits for both new and existing partners, as well as our agents. To request a visit, please contact your dedicated Country Manager.

Post-16 international schools and colleges

We offer tailored visits for counsellors and their students throughout the academic year. These visits give students the chance to experience life on a university campus and learn more about how to apply to university. Contact your dedicated Country Manager to request a visit.

Campus tours

If you can’t make one of Our Days, join us for a guided, self-guided or personalised virtual tour and get a feel for student life on campus.

Booking your visit

Please book your visit in advance—either online through our website for Open Days or via your country manager.

For external partners and agents, we ask that all requests are submitted at least 10 business days before your visit. If we receive requests at short notice, we may not be able to meet your full requirements.

Some times of the year are unavailable for visits due to University closure days. Staff availability is also reduced from July to the end of August, and from mid-December to mid-January.

Translation services

We recommend at least one member of your visiting party be fluent in English for productive meetings. We do not provide translation services but if you are bringing a professional interpreter to accompany your delegation, please include them in your delegation member list.

Business invitation letter

You will need to obtain a business invitation letter as part of your visa to travel to the UK. This is a formal document from a company inviting an individual to attend a meeting, event or visit for business purposes. It typically includes the invitee's details, the purpose of the visit, the dates and other relevant information, such as passport details.

If you do not receive your visa in time or you need to reschedule your visit, we may not be able to offer the same itinerary to you due to staff availability.

Electronic travel authorisation (ETA)

As of April 2025, the UK government has introduced an Electronic travel authorisation (ETA) scheme for all visitors to the UK.

An ETA is a digital permission to travel. All visitors who are not UK or Irish nationals will be required to purchase an ETA before they travel to the UK.

  • ETA applications can be completed online by the individual.
  • An ETA will cost approximately £16 per applicant and will be linked to your passport.
  • It will permit multiple journeys and will be valid for two years or until the holder’s passport expires, whichever is sooner.

Find out if you need an ETA and how to apply for one on the UK GOV website.
