About us

The Department of Education and Childhood at UWE Bristol is a vibrant community committed to enhancing and transforming the lives of our students, and the children, young people and adults they work with.

We run a variety of courses in early childhood and education studies and are one of the largest providers of initial teacher training and continuing professional development in the region.

For graduates, we offer PGCEs in Early Years, Primary, or Secondary and we have been judged by Ofsted to provide high-quality courses across our teacher education provision.

For qualified professionals we run a very successful MA Education programme, and a Professional Doctorate in Education.

Experienced tutors and leading researchers and practitioners in their fields teach in the department. We have excellent facilities and a range of flexible study areas and online learning tools for students.
