With close input from practice partners and maternity service users, this course offers an authentic, woman-centred learning experience. A strong practical focus will give you the grounding you need to practise midwifery confidently, compassionately and to the highest standard.

Taught by enthusiastic expert academics with significant experience as practising midwives, you’ll develop essential interpersonal and inter-professional skills to work in a team with women, their families and healthcare professionals from other disciplines.

This course is year zero of selected degree courses in the Allied Health Professions and Nursing and Midwifery departments at UWE Bristol. You’ll study areas of human biology, psychology, sociology and research to gain a solid grounding in science and healthcare-related topics.

You’ll also develop the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to take the next step in your education and career. Most of the teaching takes place at the City of Bristol College, with some sessions taught at our Glenside Campus.
