Sandwich Year Placement

For all of our English, History and Writing undergraduate students, there is the option of completing a Sandwich Year placement. This is an opportunity to gain full-time work experience in a relevant industry of the student’s choice. Sandwich Year students are assigned an academic supervisor from their own degree subject. They complete a final-year module alongside their professional work, which means they come back to university with a streamlined workload and a newfound confidence in their knowledge and skills. UWE Bristol has a dedicated Placement Support team to ensure that students have information and guidance throughout this process.

Career support throughout your degree

From the moment our students start, they get careers information and advice – from employers, our careers team, and their tutors. So, by the time they graduate, they will be equipped with the experience, contacts and skills to succeed in their chosen careers.

Work experience and volunteering

Work experience is vital, and students are prepared for graduate work by undertaking short or long placements throughout their course.
