Resilience PAL

Dedicate time to your mental health and wellbeing.

What is resilience?

Throughout your time at university you will face challenges – from transitioning into university, independent living and meeting new people to managing your finances, taking exams and juggling your social/study/work life.

Being resilient is about surviving and thriving through challenges, change and uncertainty like this, so developing your resilience is an investment into your own personal wellbeing.

The more resilient you become, the more control you have over your life choices and how you respond to and grow from the challenges you encounter.

"Thank you for the session. It made me feel normal because everyone struggles sometimes."

Resilience PAL workshops

Our resilience workshops are run by trained students, Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Leaders, with lots of ideas about how to look after your mental health, build resilience, stay relaxed, discover strengths, reach out to others and keep on top of things when life gets tough.

The sessions are interactive and discussion-based, and you do not need to know anything about resilience before attending. You will gain insight into how the learnable skills of resilience work and be encouraged to reflect on how to apply these to your everyday life - without needing to share your own personal story.

You can simply attend one workshop or, if you want to, all four workshops in the series. You will also have access to our Resilience PAL Microsoft Team for additional self-care and wellbeing resources and top tips.

Attending just one workshop can give you the skills and knowledge you need to start the process of making positive changes to your life.
