Graduating students

Information for final year students regarding your future access to IT Service provisions at UWE Bristol and any steps you may need to take.

MYUWE

Your access to MYUWE will end 120 calendar days after your Award Board meeting date.

How to find the Award Board meeting date

Before you lose access, please make sure that you have:

  • updated your personal details on MYUWE, including your home address, telephone number and personal email address (award certificates and Certificates of Credit will be posted to your home address)
  • downloaded your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)
  • downloaded your results and notification of credit and assessment marks

Once your access is withdrawn, we will not be able to download your HEAR, results and notification of credit, or assessment marks for you.

UWE Bristol Secure Documents Portal

In addition to physical award documentation, eCertificates will be published for eligible graduates* on our UWE Bristol Secure Documents Portal. This portal will allow you to view and download digital versions of your Award Certificates. You will also be able to share your digital certificates with third parties through the connections feature.

Once your results have been published on the UWE Bristol Secure Documents Portal, you will receive an email from the system to the personal email address we have for you, to allow you to register and use the portal. You can log in using your UWE details for single sign on or using your personal email address.

Blackboard

Your access to Blackboard will stop 60 calendar days after your Award Board meeting date.

How to find the Award Board meeting date

Please ensure you have downloaded all feedback from the coursework tab, as once access is withdrawn you will not be able to download your feedback.

UWE Bristol InfoHub and Career Toolkit

You can continue to use UWE Bristol career services after graduation. Follow these simple steps for continued access to the InfoHub for our vacancies database and event bookings, and to the Career Toolkit for a wide range of online career development tools, guides and resources.

InfoHub

If you have not done so already, you will need to re-activate your InfoHub account by selecting 'Graduate' on the InfoHub login page, then 'Reset your password'. The password reset email will be sent to the personal email account you registered whilst at UWE Bristol.

Please note: once you have left, all emails sent from the InfoHub will go to this personal email address too.

If you can no longer access or don't remember your personal email, please complete a lost account form to request access to the InfoHub.

Career Toolkit

As a UWE Bristol alum, you have lifetime access to the benefits of the Career Toolkit. How you log in will depend on how long ago you graduated.

Final year students and recent graduates (within 12 months of your results being published):

You will have continued 'student' access to the Career Toolkit for approximately 12 months after your results are published. Log in to the Career Toolkit as usual - enter your UWE Bristol student username and password if prompted.

Email the Student Business Systems team at sds.operations@uwe.ac.uk if you're having difficulty getting access.

If you graduated more than one year ago, you'll need to switch your account to have 'graduate access':

Email the Student Business Systems team at sds.operations@uwe.ac.uk for help switching your account. Please include your student ID and your full name in the email.

If you've updated your account to graduate access but can't remember your password:

  1. Use the Alumni login option, enter your personal email address and reset your password.
  2. Log in as Alumni using those details, then in your profile, update your preferred personal email address if required.
  3. Next time you log in, remember to use the personal email address you added to your account.

Student computers and H: Drive

Your access to UWE Bristol student computers and your H: Drive will stop 120 calendar days after:

  • your Award Board meeting date - for students who have graduated or been withdrawn.
  • the study end date of your award record - for students who have chosen to withdraw from their programme of study.

How to find the meeting/end date

If you wish to download your H: Drive from home, please see the eXternal Access (XA) information, which will provide instructions for how to do this.

Please ensure you have downloaded everything you want to keep from your H: Drive before access is withdrawn, as once access is removed you will not be able to download your feedback.

Microsoft 365

Your subscription to Microsoft 365 will end 30 calendar days after:

  • your Award Board meeting date - for students who have graduated or been withdrawn.
  • the study end date of your award record - for students who have chosen to withdraw from their programme of study.

How to find the meeting/end date

This means that:

  • your OneDrive account will close at this point, so please ensure that you have downloaded what you need from your OneDrive account before it closes
  • you will be placed on a three month trial access to the Microsoft Office package that you are able to install on your pc/laptop/mobile devices, after which if you want to continue using this you will need to purchase a package from Microsoft.

UWE Bristol email account

Students have access to their UWE Bristol email account for a year after they finish.

You can back up your account by following the instructions in the Microsoft Import and Export Outlook Email, Contacts and Calendar guide. The guide includes instructions for importing your UWE Bristol emails into another email account.

If you have any difficulties with backing up your account please contact the IT Service Desk.

Adobe Creative Cloud

Your subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud will end after:

  • your Award Board meeting date - for students who have graduated or been withdrawn.
  • the study end date of your award record - for students who have chosen to withdraw from their programme of study.

How to find the meeting/end date

If you have been allocated Adobe Creative Cloud by year of study or to support individual projects, your subscription will end after the August award boards.

Library e-resources

Your access to Library e-resources will stop immediately after your Award Board meeting date - for students who have graduated or been withdrawn.

How to find the meeting/end date

If you have books outstanding on your Library account, please return them as soon as possible. You can return your books to any of our Library sites at Frenchay, Glenside or Bower Ashton.

After graduation, you’ll be able to join the Library by signing up to our Alumni scheme. This enables you to:

  • visit our three campus libraries
  • borrow books (up to five items and make two reservations)
  • use our study spaces and facilities.

Handshake

The Handshake platform is built by students for students and it offers you unrivalled access to the best and latest graduate roles, connects you with academic and sector peers in the UK and internationally and enables you to directly connect with employers and organisations.

  1. Head to the Handshake login page
  2. Select University of the West of England, Bristol from the drop-down menu.
  3. If you graduated less than 120 days ago, you can click straight through for instant access into the platform via the blue UWE SSO button.
  4. If you are not given direct access into the platform via a blue UWE SSO button because you graduated more than 120 days ago, enter your UWE Bristol email address when prompted and click ‘Next’.
  5. You will then be prompted to set a password. Please note, it may also give you the option to click on ‘Forgot Password’.
  6. You will then be sent a confirmation email with joining instructions. You will be asked to follow a confirmation link to set your password.

Pebblepad

Your access to Pebblepad and any associated support will be available for one year following your graduation or withdrawal from your program of study.

After this period, your access to Pebblepad will be disabled, and any work that you have not exported or saved to an alternative location will no longer be accessible. To avoid losing your work, we recommend that you export your portfolio and save it to a secure location before your access expires.

Pebblepad offers the option to create an alumni account where you can take your assets with you when you leave and continue to use the platform to support your personal learning and professional development as you move on to the next stage of your career.

How to find the meeting/end date

Award Board meeting date - students who have graduated or been withdrawn

Within myUWE, the Meeting Date field is used by UWE Bristol computer systems to calculate removal of access to various applications:

To find the meeting date:

  1. Open the myUWE application.
  2. Select the Marks tab.
  3. Select the Awards & Results tab.
  4. Select your award from the dropdown list and click Submit:

  5. The Meeting Date will now be displayed:

Study end date - students who have chosen to withdraw from their programme of study

Within myUWE, the End date displayed in the 'Award Record' is used to calculate withdrawal of access to various applications.

To find the end date:

  1. Open the myUWE application.
  2. Select the My Details tab.
  3. Select the Documents tab.
  4. The End date will now be displayed:

Students returning to start a new course

Information about access to IT Service provisions at UWE Bristol for students returning to a new course.

MYUWE

Please note: you should ensure all information regarding your current course has been downloaded, as this will not be accessible once you start your new course.

If you are commencing a new course at UWE Bristol:

  • your access to MYUWE will be restored when you are asked to register for the course
  • your login details will remain the same
  • you will also receive an email to the address registered to your application to notify you of this.

Microsoft Office 365

You will be placed on the trial version of MS Office and will have access withdrawn from OneDrive, however, your license to both of these services will be renewed at the time of registering for your new course.
