Project summary
Project CHANGE was developed as part of an academic research initiative exploring how gamification can foster sustainable thinking and behaviour. Drawing on theories from environmental psychology, educational design, and game studies, the project involved literature reviews, iterative prototyping, and playtesting to evaluate player engagement and learning outcomes.
CHANGE is a practical simulation game that tasks players with managing a household's daily operations while making decisions to improve sustainability. The game combines resource management, strategy, and real-world sustainability concepts. The game is now the subject of a forthcoming British Academy journal. It represents a collaborative effort to bridge the gap between entertainment and education through interactive systems.
