About the Applied Marketing Research Group (AMRG)

AMRG activities are focused on the business community and underpinned by the high quality applied research of our members.

Our expertise

Our members are from the marketing, events, and tourism subject area within Bristol Business School. However, while we are academics, almost all of the members of our Group worked in industry prior to becoming full-time academics. Besides our research interests which are wide and varied, we maintain strong links with industry. As our name suggests, we believe in the applied nature of marketing and in the benefits of knowledge exchange between academia and industry.

What we can do for you

There are a number of ways in which we engage with organisations and individuals, we offer:

  • Consultancy: short to medium-term projects (up to three months). This could be a student or group of students (postgraduate level) supervised by an academic. Where required, it could instead be an academic without the student element.
  • Knowledge Transfer Partnership: a longer-term project (usually 24 months) where a recent graduate is employed to undertake a project supervised by two or more academics.
  • Workshops and marketing masterclasses: these can address specific issues or the broader marketing planning and implementation process. Typically, these can be one or two days.
  • Keynote speeches: we can share our latest research with you through keynote speeches at seminars and conferences.
