Apply for a health, social care and youth work opportunity

Great opportunity for a group of young people (16 to 24 yo) to join and run a project with the Neighbourhood Watch and the Groundwork South' Communities Prepared programme. Candidates will be driving a Bristol-based initiative to engage young people with crime, safety and emergency preparedness.

The Befriender Volunteer will play an important role by providing companionship to someone we support, and spending time with them, visiting them in their supported living home and doing activities they enjoy. These might include chatting over a cup of tea, reading books, playing board games, etc.

The Kingsley Hall Heritage Project is an ambitious, participatory project to transform Kingsley Hall, the charity’s Grade II* listed home in Bristol, into a safe and welcoming centre where the region’s most disadvantaged young people can rebuild their lives.

Bristol ShopMobility is a small charity based in Cabot Circus Car Park, which provides a scooter/wheelchair loan service to enable people with access or mobility problems to use the shops and facilities in Bristol.

In the school holidays we support low income families with sports, games, crafts and food for the whole family. Creating a space where children and parents can play, get creative, make new friends and learn to cook together in a supportive community. Can you help with crafts, play or food?

Friendly, fun volunteers needed to build Lego and marble runs, or play simple board/card games with primary school aged children. We aim our free Family Café at families on low income, providing a warm, safe space to play and eat free snacks after school.

Have you got experience using, fixing, and maintaining tools and electrical things? If so we need your help!

The Library of Things movement is growing across the globe. You will be responsible for welcoming members and visitors to the Library of Things, organising and looking after our Things, and using a computer to check items in and out as they are borrowed.

Our mission as a charity is to provide local support that can break cycles of disadvantage and open up new opportunities for young people. We believe that, with support, every young person can progress to an excellent post-school destination and we are committed to helping them on this journey.
