Guest tickets
How to book or purchase guest tickets to your graduation ceremony.
Buy tickets online
Once booking for graduation opens, you will be able to book a maximum of two free guest tickets before the deadline. Tickets must be booked via Ede & Ravenscroft. Please click the link in your invitation email to book your place and reserve your two free guest tickets.
If you book your place and don’t secure some or all of your free guest tickets, you can return to the booking link at any time before the deadline to secure your two free tickets.
Once the deadline has passed, your two free guest tickets will no longer be guaranteed.
Additional guest tickets
Once the booking deadline has passed, we calculate the remaining guest tickets for each ceremony and will contact all eligible students who have booked to confirm availability of additional tickets. We cannot guarantee that there will be additional tickets available for your ceremony but will let you know if there are no additional tickets available. If there are additional guest tickets, they will be sold for £15 via Ede & Ravenscroft.
Additional tickets will be available online for a limited period only. The deadline to purchase them will be detailed within the email sent to you and will also advise how many additional tickets you are able to purchase. Once the deadline has passed to purchase additional tickets online, you will no longer be able to purchase any tickets in advance of your ceremony date.
Any additional tickets remaining at this point will be sold on the day of your ceremony, on a first-come, first-served basis. These will be available at the registration desk which opens two hours before your ceremony begins. Please note we will be accepting card payments only.
Transferring tickets
Tickets are not transferable. We try and make the process of booking and purchasing tickets as fair as possible. We do not permit the transfer of tickets between students or permit any request to the graduation office to transfer tickets. All guest tickets are required to be collected with photo ID, so if you transfer tickets there is a risk you will not be able to collect them on the day of your ceremony. We reserve the right to withdraw tickets we know have been transferred.
Ticket collection
Guest tickets will be available for collection from the registration desk on the day of your ceremony at the cathedral. This can be found in the cloisters, the entrance to these is situated behind the marquee. We do not post tickets. Please bring your student card or a form of photo ID with you on the day to collect them.
Your guests will be directed through the north entrance of the cathedral so you will be able to pass on your guest tickets once you have registered and robed.
If you know your guests are going to arrive late, please inform the staff at the registration desk. We will make sure your guest tickets are taken to the north door entrance and left with a member of the security team. Guests will need their tickets to attend the ceremony and the alumni reception afterwards.
Children
Guest tickets will be required for any child aged 4 and above. Children aged 3 or under can attend the ceremony free of charge providing that they sit on a guest's lap or in a pushchair. If the child will be coming in a pram or pushchair, please contact the Graduation team to let us know. We cannot guarantee appropriate seating if you fail to email us before the deadline.
Please see our terms and conditions for more information.
Guests without tickets
Guests without a guest ticket can enter the cathedral with you in the two hours before the ceremony, however they cannot stay to watch the ceremony. They will be able to join you for photographs before the ceremony, but must leave the cathedral when non-ticket holders are asked to do so. Guests without tickets will also not be able to attend the post-ceremony alumni drinks reception in the marquee.
For those without a ticket, we will be live streaming all the graduation ceremonies online and in a venue near Bristol Cathedral.
Refunds and cancellations
If you do not complete your award, your booking will be cancelled and any guest tickets will be removed. Guest tickets are non-transferable so as per our terms and conditions, you will need to re-book and purchase new guest tickets for your new ceremony by the appropriate deadlines. View more information on cancellations and refunds for any items purchased.
Reclaim VAT on guest tickets
UWE Bristol will not refund Value Added Tax (VAT) on guest tickets. However, if you live outside the EU (this includes the Channel Islands of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm), you may be able to recover the VAT paid on guest tickets through a VAT refund scheme offered by HM Revenue and Customs HMRC. For more information or contact the HMRC helpline on +44 (0)845 010 9000.

If one of your guests have any access requirements which the graduation team may need to be aware of on the day, or if you have any questions about accessibility, please contact the graduation team.
