Getting to the graduation venue

All UWE Bristol graduation ceremonies take place at Bristol Beacon.

Travelling to Bristol Beacon

Getting ready for your ceremony

1. Register with us when you arrive at Bristol Beacon. Registration will close 45 minutes before your ceremony start time.
2. Collect your wristbands and free ceremony programme.
3. Collect your robe.
4. Give guests their wristbands for entry.
5. Take official photographs with/without guests.
6. The auditorium will open 30 minutes prior to your ceremony. Bristol Beacon has limited capacity for waiting so, if you have time, check out places to eat and drink in the local area.
7. Enter the auditorium 30 minutes prior to your ceremony. You must sit in your designated seat. Latecomers will not be admitted.

The ceremony will last about 90 minutes.

During the ceremony

Graduate and guest seating is separate and everyone must sit in their designated seats.

Photography and filming

Guests can film and take photos but must remain seated at all times so everyone can see the stage.

Places to eat and drink

There is a large variety of shops, coffee shops and restaurants in the area. Some venues offer discounts or a free glass of fizz to graduates.

Buying merchandise

• Buy UWE Bristol hoodies, t-shirts and gifts from The Students’ Union at UWE shop.
• Buy t-shirts and hoodies listing graduates’ names from Campus Clothing.

Attending the reception

Graduates and guests with tickets can head to the drinks reception after the ceremony. The reception will last about 45 minutes.
