Description

This interactive workshop is especially useful if you are undertaking level 3 or postgraduate study and want to improve your critical writing skills.

This workshop will take place online in Blackboard Collaborate; guidance on using Collaborate is available. The workshop will have interactive elements and we recommend that if possible you use a laptop or PC with Chrome or Firefox as your browser. You may wish to use an additional mobile device or another tab in your browser for the interactive elements. You can access session materials beforehand from the Study Skills Blackboard course.

A 'How to get started with critical writing' workshop is available as an introduction to what is meant by critical writing.

There is also a How to write critically online workbook with similar activities and content to the workshop.

Workshop objectives

To feel more confident about:

  • identifying weak reasoning
