Travel discounts
We’ve teamed up with transport providers to offer discounted travel to Open Days and Offer Holder Events.
Great Western Railway (GWR)
Open day attendees travelling on select Great Western Railway (GWR) services are eligible for 20% off when purchasing Advance tickets.
Use the code UWEOPENDAY26 to redeem the discount on your booking.
This discount is available on fares on the day of your open day and seven days before and after. These set times and dates of travel are non-exchangeable and non-refundable, and please note that Advance tickets are not always available for short distance journeys. The origin of your journey must be within the GWR network and your destination must be Bristol Temple Meads or Bristol Parkway. Tickets must be purchased by 18:00 the day before travel.
Anyone purchasing the tickets will need proof of event attendance to show a ticket inspector when requested. This discount can be combined with the 16-25 railcard.
National Express
You’ll get a discount of 20% if you travel with National Express. You can travel from any location to either Bristol Bus and Coach Station in the city centre or UWE Bristol Frenchay Campus. To book your ticket go to the National Express website and use code UWE30.

- Discount only valid for visitors travelling to Open Days or Offer Holder Days at University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).
- Discount only valid for visitors travelling to Open Days or Offer Holder Days on 21 March, 25 April, 6 June, 10 October and 21 November 2026.
- Redeemable from any location to University of the West of England Frenchay Interchange, Stand A or Bristol Bus and Coach Station.
- Only valid for travel to Open Days or Offer Holder Days on the following dates: 20-22 March, 24-26 April, 5-7 June, 9-11 October and 20-22 November 2026.
- Must book at least 72 hours in advance.
- Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer including Coachcards.
- Offer cannot be used on third-party services.

First Bus
We have teamed up with First Bus to offer a limited number of free tickets within the Bristol zone to help you travel to and from our Offer Holder Events and Open Days. To claim this, download the First Bus app and set up an account. Then send an email to open@uwe.ac.uk with your full name and email address (this must be the same email address as your First Bus account) and the ticket will be sent straight to your app.
You must send your request by Wednesday 3 June at 12:00. Any ticket requests received after this time will not be processed.

Bambalan
Quote UWE20 and show your ticket to get a 20% discount off food (excludes drinks).
Brooks Guest House
Receive 10% off your accommodation booking (includes breakfast). Use code UWE10 when booking through the website.
The Canteen
Show your ticket for 10% off food and drink between 11:00 and 21:00 and get free entry to music before 21:30.
Totos by the River
Use code UWE10 and show your ticket in the restaurant for a 10% discount off food and drink.
