About sponsorship

UWE Bristol works with a number of sponsorship bodies. This includes government ministries and embassies, public and private organisations, and non-government organisations (NGOs).

We greatly value our relationship with our sponsorship partners and provide the following services:

• a dedicated contact and email account for sponsors
• twice yearly academic reports
• ad-hoc transcripts for students as required
• organisation of visits to UWE Bristol to meet with sponsored students.

Information for potential sponsors

If you don’t currently work with UWE Bristol but would like to find out more about registering your students on one of our courses, please contact the Sponsorship Team at sponsoredstudents@uwe.ac.uk.

Our team would be delighted to provide you with further information and arrange a visit to your headquarters, or representative office in the UK.

How we support your students

The University offers support from the moment students arrive on campus through to the end of their studies. If students are ever unsure of where to go or who to speak with, they can drop into one of our Information Points.

To help sponsored students get the most out of their studies, it’s important to ensure they are aware of the following:

• Registration is mandatory each academic year and must be completed before teaching begins, or students risk withdrawal or visa issues.
• Additional costs associated with resits or retakes will require additional funds – it is the students responsibility to seek approval from their sponsor for this.
• Written consent is required from the sponsor should a student ask to change their programme of study.
• It is the responsibility of the student to attend class and engage with their course. Attendance and engagement details will be included in the reporting we provide. Students are at risk of being withdrawn should they not maintain their attendance.
• Please encourage your students to familiarise themselves with our guidance for sponsored students.

Payment and invoices

UWE Bristol will send invoices once the student has provided a valid sponsor letter and Financial Guarantee and they have registered with the University. We expect payment in full within 30 days. Paying in instalments is not an available option.

Progress reports

We will provide you with progress reports twice yearly, after the key award boards. Dates vary from year to year but are published in advance.

Progress reports will provide information on students including any assessments they have undertaken, attendance, engagement and wider information on their digital footprint.
