Who can apply for an apprenticeship

We offer higher and degree apprenticeship courses in a variety of subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16 and in paid employment with an employer who supports the scheme, alongside meeting the eligibility criteria and entry requirements for the course you are interested in by the start of your apprenticeship.

You can find a list of all the higher and degree apprenticeship courses we have on offer, including eligibility and entry criteria.

How do I apply for a degree apprenticeship

If you have an employer to support you

Once you've decided which apprenticeship you'd like to study and when you'd like to start, speak to your line manager and/or HR team about applying.

You need to achieve sign-off at relevant levels of approval before you complete the application form for the apprenticeship. Once approved your employer will contact us and we will send you a link to start your application.

Your employer can contact our UWE Bristol Apprenticeship Hub by emailing apprenticeships@uwe.ac.uk or call us on +44 (0)117 32 84888.

If you're not already employed

Find a relevant employer, the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education lists all apprenticeship standards approved for delivery – you can take a look through which standard best suits your career goals and see which providers offer this apprenticeship.

Find an Apprenticeship and UCAS Apprenticeship search offer tools to find up-to-date employer apprenticeship vacancies.

Many employers advertise apprenticeship vacancies on their websites so if you have a particular employer(s) in mind, please check the careers page of their website and sign up to receive alerts from them if possible.

Apply to the University

When you have secured employer support for your apprenticeship and they have contacted our Apprenticeship Hub, you'll be sent an application email outlining the next steps to apply. Once your application has been reviewed, you will be notified of the outcome via email from the Admissions Team.

If your application is successful, you will need to accept your offer via the instructions in our email.

Enrol as an apprentice

After completing the above steps, you will be sent further information about how to register to be an apprentice at the University and will have to sign some paperwork alongside your employer.
