Emerging environmental issues: FORENV report on new technologies

The SCU produced a report for the European Commission Directorate-General Environment on new technologies in the urban environment.

The Science Communication Unit (SCU) produced a report for the European Commission Directorate-General Environment on new technologies in the urban environment.

FORENV is a process for the systematic identification of emerging risks, implemented by the Environment Knowledge Committee (EKC), and involves text mining, horizon scanning (including from Science for Environment Policy), and review by the Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks (SCHEER).

Building upon the results of the process, the SCU team produced a report outlining the most prominent emerging environmental issues stemming from the use of new technologies in the urban environment, including a set of infographics to visualise the key emerging risks and benefits.
