What you need to do

  1. Step 1

    Join Kooth Student by entering your UWE Bristol email address and a few details.

    As part of your account set up, you’ll need to provide your UWE Bristol email address so that your user account can be verified. Once you’ve registered, your email address will be deleted from Kooth Student’s database.

  2. Step 2

    Look out for the confirmation email in your inbox.

  3. Step 3

    After creating a quick anonymous profile, you will be able to log in and chat to a counsellor. 

  4. Step 4

    Kooth Student counsellors are available to talk throughout the year, including out of term time, from:

    • Monday to Friday from 12:00–22:00
    • weekends from 18:00–22:00.

    You can leave a message outside of these hours, and you’re welcome to browse the forums and resources at any time.

Data privacy

Kooth Student data privacy

Kooth Student is separate from the Wellbeing Service and they cannot share information without your explicit consent. Please make sure that you’ve read the Kooth Student privacy policy so that you’re fully informed about your data privacy rights. You’ll be asked to confirm that you have read, understood and accept Kooth Student’s Privacy Notice before you can register to use the Kooth Student service.

If you’re experiencing any technical issues with Kooth Student or want to tell us what you think of the service, please contact the UWE Bristol Wellbeing Service at wellbeing@uwe.ac.uk. Please note that Kooth Student is an anonymous service, but if you contact the Wellbeing Service your email to us won't be anonymous.
