Entry requirements

If you do not quite meet the entry requirements for our undergraduate programmes, UWE Bristol offers foundation degrees or undergraduate degrees with foundation year entry. Students need at least 60% in the Esame di Stato to be considered for foundation year entry.

English language requirements

To study at UWE Bristol you must demonstrate that your English level is high enough for university study. We accept a number of different Secure English Language Tests (SELT) for entry onto our degree courses, with IELTS being the most common. English language requirements vary slightly from subject to subject.

If you do not quite meet our entry requirements, our International College offers a range of university preparation courses to teach you all you need to progress to UWE Bristol. We also have a pre-sessional English language course to get your English skills up to the standard required for entry to UWE Bristol.

For undergraduate entry, students need at least the Esame di Stato with a minimum grade of 75 out of 100 for most undergraduate programmes. There may be other specific entry requirements.

Entry requirements

Holders of Licenza di Accademia di Belle Arti, Diploma di Laurea (post reforms of 1999), Diploma accademico di primo livello and Bachelors degrees can be considered for postgraduate study.

Holders of the Corsi di Laurea Specialistica, Corsi di Master Universitario di secondo livello and Corsi di Perfezionamento Diploma di Specialista (Dottorato di Ricerca) can be considered for PhD study.

Please note: where UWE Bristol has an academic agreement in place with an institution, greater flexibility in entry requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate courses may apply as outlined in those agreements.
