Playing and singing opportunities

At Centre for Music, we celebrate inclusive and culturally diverse music. Pop, Rock, Hip-hop, Electronica, Classical, Gospel, A Capella, Jazz – we’ve got you covered with our wide range of playing and singing groups.

You can sing your heart out at any of our professionally directed choirs; no audition required.

Or join our orchestra, brass band or big band, led by professional musicians. Just sign up for your free Centre for Music membership.

Staff and community members

Staff can join a band or ensemble with a Centre for Music discounted membership.

Community members are welcome to join All Together Now, Big Band, Gospel Choir or Orchestra with a Centre for Music membership.

  • The Big Band is an energetic and polished ensemble, led by musicians Keith Morgan and Andy Hague.
  • We always want to hear from new players so if you are not sure you have enough musical experience then please get in touch.
  • Big Band rehearse once a week on Monday evenings.

  • Everyone is welcome – there's no audition and no previous experience is necessary.
  • Gospel Choir rehearse once a week on Wednesday lunchtimes.

  • Conducted by Senior Lecturer in Classical and Jazz Music Enrichment Anri Adachi.
  • The UWE Orchestra welcomes players of all orchestral instruments at Grade 6 standard and above.
  • We rehearse once a week on Tuesday evenings.

  • No audition is required but experience singing in a choir will be valuable.
