Description
Making Climate is an open discussion led by artist, researcher and Senior Lecturer in Fine Art Susie Olczak, exploring how creative practice might respond to environmental change. Drawing on her sculptural research into landscapes of hope and climate adaptation, Susie will introduce examples from her own work and that of other artists to prompt discussion about how we make with, rather than simply represent, changing environments.
Together, we will consider whether art can produce knowledge, what adaptation might mean from an artistic perspective, and how creative practice might offer ways of thinking through uncertainty and imagining different environmental futures. The event will invite students from across creative disciplines to share perspectives and explore the possibilities of art and making in a changing climate.
How to attend
This is a free event, no booking is required. Just turn up on the day to take part in the discussion.
