Description
Join us at the repair and reuse revolution tent outside Z Block on Frenchay Campus. Come along and discover practical ways to cut costs and live more sustainably, and explore exciting volunteering opportunities.
We'll have lots of information about these initiatives:
- Sustainability Hub: swap, donate, and pick up affordable pre-loved essentials such as clothes, bedding, kitchenware, books and small appliances. Most items are available from just 20p, helping you save money while reducing waste.
- Enviro IT: buy a refurbished laptop at an affordable price, giving pre-owned devices a second life. This student-led project reduces e-waste and helps more students access the technology they need without the cost of buying new.
- Library of Things: why buy when you can borrow? From tools to kitchen gadgets, camping gear to board games, you can borrow what you need for a fraction of the cost of ownership. Student memberships start at only £20 a year.
- Reuse Marketplace: university furniture and equipment given a second life. Staff, students, charities and community organisations can request surplus items free of charge, saving money and supporting reuse across the community.
- Repair café: bring along broken textiles, electronics, toys or glasses and have them repaired for free by students, staff and skilled volunteers. A fantastic volunteering opportunity to gain practical skills, work with industry professionals and earn digital skills badges.
