Reuniting the Evidence Base for Planning and Health

Public Health England, Coin Street Conference Centre, 108 Stamford St London, South Bank SE1 9NH
Monday 23 February 2015
13:00 - 16:30

The aim of this seminar was to establish a dialogue between research and practice to identify solutions to the evidence challenges facing planning and public health. There were strong links between the built and natural environment, spatial planning and public health. Existing approaches to public health research and the use of evidence tended to focus on narrow and specific questions, and did not provide the best evidence to address complex challenges around improving the healthiness of the environment. This event teased out some of the particular challenges faced, and identified potential research priorities for the future.
