New library search tool

Introducing the new UWE Bristol library search tool, launched in August 2022.

What is library search?

On Tuesday 23 August 2022 we updated our library search tool. Library search helps to enhance your access to library resources – both print and electronic.

This new tool improves your experience. You can manage your account, place reservations and connect to a range of different services directly from the search interface.

Use library search

What does this mean for me?

From Tuesday 16 August, a number of library self service pages will be unavailable. This includes checking your library account online, placing holds and placing interlibrary loans. You can still contact the library through Ask a Librarian to enquire about anything relating to your account, and we will do our best to help during this period of service interruptions.

There will be a short disruption between Friday 19 August and Tuesday 23 August 2022 while we switch to the new tool. You will still be able to search our electronic resources but will be unable to borrow physical items during this period.

If you have generated any direct links into library search, these will need to be updated when the new search goes live. Examples may include bookmarks, or any links from Blackboard.

Links from your reading list on the readinglists.uwe.ac.uk platform will be unaffected by this change.

Guest users will no longer need a PIN number to login. The new system will use your registered email address to help you login and access your account. Our guest users will receive further information on this. Please ensure that we have the correct email address registered for you
