Practice rooms, rehearsal space and recording studios available to book for UWE Bristol staff and students.
How to book
You need to become a member to book any Centre for Music rehearsal studio or practice room. Membership is free for students. Once you are a member you can book via our room booking system.
If you need to borrow any equipment for use during your room booking, such as a guitar or bass, you can do this via Connect 2. Links will be provided when you book a room. Please make sure you book a room and equipment.
We are unable to loan equipment and instruments for use outside the Centre for Music.
There are special arrangements for players in UWE Orchestra who need access to instruments – please email: anri.adachi@uwe.ac.uk.
Big room 0WF012
This dance studio is our largest room, with full mirror wall, acoustic curtains and a large Esmono sound proof booth. The room is a multi-functional space suitable for dancers and larger bands to rehearse.
It is in high demand, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Keyboard Lab 1WF018
Our teaching space, with fully weighted digital pianos and individual workstations for learning music production. This room is not bookable.

- Suite of Macbooks with Logic Pro X and Ableton 10 pre-loaded
Recording Studio 1WF024
A fully equipped recording studio comprised of two rooms, fitted with isolated booths.
These spaces are ideal for multitrack recordings of bands, while minimising sound blead, especially in live situations.
You also have access to Ableton and Logic Pro alongside a Nord stage 3 keyboard, perfect for music production.
Live Room 0WF001
Live, isolated Esmono sound booth connected to the studio. This room is perfect for tracking drums and is ideal for drum practice.
DJ Room 1WF019
A well-equipped, soundproof DJ booth with enough space to get a mix on with a couple of friends.

- Two Reloop RP-4000 Mk 2 vinyl turntables
- Two Pioneer XDJ 700 compatible with Rekordbox (plug in a USB stick, hard drive or laptop preloaded with your tunes in mp3 format.)
- Reloop RMX-60 Digital Mixer
Acoustic Room 1WF016
A beautiful, light and airy room that is perfect for acoustic practice, with comfy seating, pianos and mood lighting as well as a big window to allow the natural light to flood in.

- Assorted percussion instruments including bongos, kpanlogos and sabars
- Large sofa and chaise longue (yes, really!)
Legge Room 1WF014
An acoustic practice room dedicated to our much-missed colleague, Steve Legge. Suitable for up to four people to do acoustic practice.
