Description
About Start-up specials
Start-up specials are a series of networking events co-hosted by the University of Bristol Basecamp Enterprise Team and the UWE Bristol Student Ventures Team. These events are designed to connect student entrepreneurs with a diverse range of local entrepreneurs and foster meaningful conversations among like-minded individuals.
Each session offers the chance to hear from subject specialists on a variety of topics, ask questions, and take part in networking with fellow attendees and guest speakers afterwards.
This event is the third Start-up special and is designed for anyone looking to build a venture that makes a difference for people and the environment, offering the chance to hear from those already doing it on how to integrate values and impact into a successful venture, while still making a profit.
This interactive event will feature a dynamic panel of local entrepreneurs and specialists who are making a real impact, including:
- Vashti Seth – Founder of Deki, a Bristol-based charity empowering rural communities to build resilience against poverty and climate change.
- Daniel Balla – Co-Director of Coexist, a non-profit cookery school using food as a tool to support people experiencing social marginalisation.
- Sam Hodgson – Founder of Enviro IT, a business committed to making tech affordable by refurbishing redundant IT equipment.
- Mose-Issie Ebengho – Founder of Mose Rising CIC, who is passionately committed to uplifting and empowering individuals from BIPOC, BAME, LGBTQ and underprivileged communities through addressing resource gaps in the creative industries and summer clubs for children.
