Description

Social action hackathons bring together students, graduates and local charities, community groups and public organisations to tackle challenges that matter.

Working in teams, students and recent graduates explore real issues, share ideas and develop creative solutions that could have a positive impact on communities. No experience is needed – just curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.

Why take part?

Gain real-world experience by working on genuine community challenges

Develop skills employers value, including teamwork, problem-solving, communication and creative thinking

Meet students and graduates from different courses and backgrounds, and learn from new perspectives

Build your confidence in sharing ideas and collaborating with others

Make connections with local organisations and professionals

Contribute to projects that could create positive social change

How to attend

All current UWE Bristol students and recent graduates can take part.

You don't need to be an expert, have specialist knowledge or have taken part in a hackathon before.

The Social action hackathon event encourages and celebrates diversity so regardless of your background, course of study, interests, knowledge and skills, and whether you come alone or with others, everyone is welcomed equally and no one is out of place.
