About the event
Launched in 2025, the Economic Crime Experts Directory (ECED) aims to connect academic researchers with key stakeholders.
This event will bring together members of the ECED, including economic crime scholars, leaders in law enforcement, government, industry and civil society.
The conference will be structured around the themes and priorities set out in the Economic Crime Areas of Research Interest (ARI) launched by the National Economic Crime Centre and the Home Office in 2025. It will provide will provide experts with an opportunity to share knowledge related to the ARI, with the aim of enhancing the understanding and evidence base necessary for policy development and operational enforcement.
Programme
The conference programme to include:
- Introduction from the creator of the Directory, Dr Sam Mapston, UWE Bristol.
- Keynote addresses from representatives of the Home Office and National Economic Crime Centre.
- Presentations from leading academics in economic crime, including an academic keynote address from Professor Nicholas Ryder, Cardiff University.
- Presentations from influential civil society organisations, including the Fraud Advisory Panel.
- Refreshment breaks and a buffet lunch will provide opportunities for networking.
Registration
Admission to the conference, including a buffet lunch and refreshments, is free of charge. However, as spaces are limited, we encourage you to book your place at the earliest possible opportunity.
Parking is available at the conference venue. Please find information on travelling to UWE Bristol Frenchay Campus.
