Research in the School of Architecture and Environment

The School of Architecture and Environment has an extensive programme of research and consultancy combining academic excellence and policy relevance, for which it has a well-established national and international reputation.

Our research activity focuses on strategically important and timely architectural, environmental, resource, transport and societal issues. Reflecting its global prominence, the School of Architecture and Environment hosts a number of research centres and groups. Staff from this School also collaborate with other research centres and groups based in other schools and colleges within the UWE Bristol community.

We have a strong track record of securing project funding from bodies which include the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the European Union. We also work with a wide range of clients in the private, public and voluntary sectors.
