Postgraduate research in the Centre for Advanced Built Environment Research (CABER)

The Centre for Advanced Built Environment Research (CABER) welcomes applications from students wanting to study for a PhD research degree in any of CABER's built environment themes. For further information about these research areas and potential supervisors, please contact the theme leads.

Most UK Government funding is now funnelled through Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs), which are held by one or more universities in partnership with one of the UK Research Councils. UWE Bristol is part of the ESRC-funded South West Doctoral Training Partnership

Note that you are required to submit a detailed research proposal with an agreed supervisory team for this opportunity, which is a considerable amount of work and is likely to take a few weeks. The deadline for the SWDTP. studentship starting in October 2026 is 9 January 2026 at noon (GMT). Find out more information and how to apply.
