Description
Financial and organised crime are evolving, creating new risks and challenges for businesses of all sizes.
Join us for “Keeping Crime Out of Business”, a UWE business breakfast bringing together international academic expertise, experienced practitioners and the business community to explore the threats posed by financial crime and what businesses can do to protect themselves.
We are delighted to welcome Associate Professor Anton Moiseienko, from the Law School at the Australian National University. Professor Moiseienko specialises in financial crime and economic sanctions, including money laundering, terrorist financing, and financial regulation. His guest address will be followed by presentations from leading practitioners working in the field of financial crime.
What we’ll cover:
- the evolving financial crime landscape
- risks, impacts and business vulnerabilities
- strengthening prevention, detection and resilience
- ownership and control in sanctions compliance.
This is an opportunity to hear directly from an international academic expert and practitioners working in the field, gain practical insights and consider what financial crime means for your organisation.
You'll have the chance to:
- hear international perspectives on financial crime
- learn from experienced practitioners
- understand emerging risks and vulnerabilities
- gain practical insights into prevention and resilience
- ask questions and take part in the discussion
- connect with businesses, practitioners and academic experts.
Whether you're a business owner, leader, professional or practitioner, this breakfast will provide an opportunity to better understand the financial crime landscape and explore how organisations can become more resilient.
The event will be co-organised by UWE Bristol’s Financial Crime and Cyber Crime Research Network, the Economic Crime Experts Directory and the Global Crime, Justice and Security Research Group, bringing together research, professional expertise and practical experience to explore some of the key issues facing businesses today, share experiences and explore new connections.
Come along, hear from the experts and help keep crime out of business.
