About the conference

Hosted by the Bristol Centre for Linguistics (BCL), iMean7 will take place  from Wednesday 19 June to Friday 21 June 2024 at Bristol Business School (room 2X112) located in the heart of UWE Bristol’s Frenchay Campus.

The conference  adheres to its original broad theme of Meaning in Social Interaction with a particular focus on Language and Inclusion.  

The submission of new papers for iMean7 is now open and we welcome proposals for papers which address the following questions: 

  • How is language used in society to promote or inhibit inclusion?
  • How does the way that language is used for inclusivity impact on its structure?

Accessibility

There are accessible toilets with alarms on every floor in the Bristol Business School building. Individual gender neutral WCs are on level 2 (these are not accessible). Lockers are available to hire through the building, priority to those with reasonable adjustments.

We have a dedicated room to rest and recover with soft seating and a fold-up bed. Please speak to a staff member at the Reception desk if you wish to use it.
