Description
Climate Chats and Cake returns this month.
We will be joined by Frances from Climate Live – an advocacy organization that works to raise awareness about climate change through music, and to promote sustainable practices in the music industry. There will be chance to ask any questions you may have, and to discuss your thoughts with other students. All students and staff are welcome, but we particularly invite students with an interest in music and live performance! As always, tasty snacks will be provided! No need to sign up, just show up on the day!
Climate Live is an environmental movement focussing on using music to engage those who aren't currently very aware of the climate crisis. They run their own Climate Live festivals in 60+ countries, host Campaign stalls to spread awareness at existing music events, and run activities such as tree planting and beach clean-up sessions with music. They want to harness the universal language of music to engage. educate and empower people to apply pressure to world leaders. They were actively involved with COP28, running talks and workshops for young people.
