Description
The theme of this IWD event ‘Breaking down barriers through activism, inclusion and progress’ highlights the ongoing work to tackle gender inequality. By bringing together people to discuss and promote women's rights, this event provides an opportunity to celebrate how far women have come, but also to strategize, organize and reinvigorate efforts to achieve full gender equity.
What to expect
The event will host formal presentations, offer an opportunity to hear more about some of the women’s organisations and networks operating in and around Bristol and highlight initiatives and research at UWE Bristol.
This event will include a talk from a representative of the Alta mentoring programme which is celebrating its five-year anniversary, as well as a presentation on ‘the fight for equal pay’ from equal pay expert, Professor Hazel Conley, UWE Bristol.
There will also be plenty of time to network, share ideas and form future collaborations.
