Description

This session will explore different routes into independent practice, including freelancing, consultancy, self-employment and business ownership, helping you understand which path may be right for you. Through examples, you'll consider the benefits of working independently, learn from the experiences of others who have built successful independent careers, and reflect on how these insights can shape your own ambitions.

You'll begin to develop your own idea by identifying what you could offer and who your target customers might be, while exploring how your existing knowledge, skills and experience could support a future independent practice. The session also introduces the support available through the Enterprise Engine and concludes with SMART goal setting and action planning to help you take practical steps towards achieving your independent practice goals.
