Description
As part of UWE Bristol Women's History Month celebrations, we are welcoming UWE Bristol alum Louise to showcase her first documentary on adoption. The documentary is 15 minutes and will follow with a Q&A with the Director with an opportunity for questions around women in filmmaking and bringing authentic stories to the screen.
Louise Ndibwirende (she/her) is a UWE Bristol graduate (2011), public speaker, EDI consultant and filmmaker. She directed her first documentary "Speak Little One" which launched in September 2024, followed by a tour across London, Sheffield, Southampton, Sussex and Daventry - with an audience reaching over 300.
The documentary seeks to validate, celebrate, and hold space for all the in between complexities of adoption from the lens of adoptees. It breaks down the uncomfortable and untold narratives society shields itself from and reshapes the story through unfiltered truth-telling of grief, displacement, identity and the unified journey of many adoptees as they come home to themselves.
“Speak Little One (The World Is Listening)” aims to give permission for all adoptees to find their voice through reparenting, nurture and self love affirmations to their younger selves on the quest of unbreakable freedom and joy.
