Description
Join local guide Steve England to learn about the magical and fascinating world of mushrooms in the woodland near Frenchay Campus.
On the walk, Steve will help you to spot different species and their habitats, explain how they work and why they make a woodland healthy. You'll also discuss some vital environmental factors and considerations that both new and seasoned mushroom enthusiasts need to know.
You'll get the chance to identify mushrooms suitable for making ink and fire lighting, learn which species are edible and toxic, and maybe even find a tasty fungi treat.
Please bring water, wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. You might also like to bring snacks, a notepad or a camera.
The walk is free, but please book your place through Eventbrite.

We'll meet by the Long Down Avenue exit on Frenchay Campus. The What3Words location is ///eagle.heavy.miss.

The walk will go through uneven woodland and the ground can get muddy. Appropriate footwear is required and ensure you dress for the weather.
Unfortunately, this activity is not suitable for wheelchair users.
