Building Information Modelling student consultancy project

We are looking for companies to implement a Building Information Modelling (BIM) case study of their choice.

If interested, a group of MSc students from our BIM in Design Constructions and Operations course will help you to develop and implement a BIM case study, while on placement.

BIM student placements - what is involved?

The placement includes two stages:

  1. The first part of the placement involves a group of students to help you define and determine the feasibility of the case study. These students will establish a ‘roadmap’ for the implementation of the case study.
  2. In the second part of the placement, each student will develop an in-depth aspect of the case study, as agreed with the company. The development of the case study will be based on the latest BIM protocols, standards and best practice.

How long is the placement?

Students are expected to spend the equivalent of eight contact days with your company over a period of 7 months.

Each contact day is roughly between 09:00 and 17:00. The time and schedule of visits (including remote working) is agreed between the student and company. We ask that organisations kindly offer the students expenses if site visits occur.

Please note: student placements are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
