Professional practice support contacts
Contact details for professional placements at UWE Bristol.
Practice support line
The Practice Support Line is managed by the Professional Practice Office and is open 09:00-16:30 Monday to Thursday and 09:00-16:00 on Friday.
If you are a student, practice educator or placement area and have a general enquiry, need to raise a concern regarding a placement or student on placement, or would like to share best practice, please contact our Practice Support Line by calling +44 (0)117 32 81152 or email hscpsl@uwe.ac.uk.
Please note that the Practice Support Line is closed at weekends and on university closure days. More information on closure days.
If you have urgent concerns about the welfare of a student or need support yourself (outside of our opening times) please visit the wellbeing, emergency and crisis information.
Practice absence reporting
All Health and Social Care students are required to report any absence from practice placement to both their placement provider and UWE.
To record your absence, please call our telephone answering service on +44 (0)117 32 83283 or email practiceabsence@uwe.ac.uk. Please ensure you provide your full name, student number, date of absence and reason for absence.
We also require placement providers to report student absence to UWE, by calling or emailing the contacts above.
If you fail to report your absence to placement and it is reported to UWE, we will attempt to make contact with you. If we are unable to make contact, this will be escalated to your Programme Team and may then be escalated to Serious Concerns.
Dedicated programme support
Dedicated support is always available from individual programme teams so please reach out to your programme team for help. If you are unsure who is best to contact in your programme team, then please email HSCPSL@uwe.ac.uk.
