Research themes within the Social and Public Policy Research Group (SPPRG)
Membership of the Social and Public Policy Research Group (SPPRG) is primarily drawn from the School of Social Sciences at UWE Bristol, although it does work with other UWE Bristol research centres, groups and departments.
The group consists of three distinct but inter-related research themes with group members co-habiting multiple themes. The three themes are shown below:
Identities, (In)Equalities and Communities
Understanding individual and social identities and the role they play in shaping, sustaining and/or challenging communities.
Justice and Security
Understanding the concept of justice in modern society, including what justice is, and analysing the institutions and organisations that deliver it, from a range of social scientific perspectives.
Philosophical Approaches to Cultures and Environments
Understanding the political, social, cultural, natural and built environment and our relationship to it through a range of philosophical methods.
Collaboration
We are interested in collaborating with academics and/or stakeholders on projects focused on one or multiple themes.
Please view the webpages for each of the different themes above and contact us to discuss further.
