Description
This will be a relaxed and informal face-to-face session run by external trainer, Jo Bloxham from Kynfolk.
UWE is a very diverse community, with staff and students from all over the world, but for some UWE students it may be their first time to live in the UK. This session is designed to help these students better understand the thinking and behaviours of the British people they meet.
There will be lots of opportunities to share experiences and to ask questions, if you want to!
A range of cultural topics will be covered from sense of humour and communication styles to attitudes about time and British academic culture. The session will also include a quick look at British English and British attitudes to language diversity. At the end of the workshop we will share ways you can keep learning about British culture, if you are interested to.
*This session aims at students who are new to British culture but any students who would like to come along to share their perspectives, or who would like to reflect on their own culture, are very welcome!
