Description
This workshop is particularly aimed at students undertaking Law and Business or Criminology.
Students on these programmes may elect to use UWE Bristol Harvard or OSCOLA.
This introduction to referencing will consider the advantages of both systems, and build confidence with the principles and practical aspects of referencing and citation.
This session will cover
- An overview and comparison of UWE Bristol Harvard and OSCOLA referencing systems.
- Principles of referencing as core to academic practice and to avoid plagiarism.
- Practical activity involving the navigation of the available resources to reference common and also non-standard formats.

- Understanding that good study skills help to avoid plagiarism.
- Accessing referencing resources at UWE Bristol.
- Using UWE Bristol webpages to access formats to create citations and references for law and other source types.
