About the event
Menopause: New Perspectives opens up new ways of thinking about a subject which affects nearly half the population.
Speakers include Professor Marie Mulvey-Roberts (UWE Bristol) and Dr Jill Kirby (University of Sussex) who will talk about how menopause has been represented in art, literature, film and its history, along with Lauren Chiren, menopause champion and founder and CEO of Women of a Certain Stage.
There will be input from representatives from various menopause groups from around the Bristol area and screenings of two short films.
Dr Jo Parsons and Dr Ruth Heholt (Falmouth University) will be launching our new website. This will include an online Menopausal Museum and the audience will be invited to suggest what to include!
Cakes, pastries, tea and coffee will be provided free of charge. Everyone is welcome, including men.
This event is organised in association with the Scholarly Association for Menopausal Studies (SAMS).
There is no entrance fee, but it is essential that you register your attendance and early booking is recommended.
