Description
The creators of MindHarp are facilitating, free one-hour sessions at Bower Ashton Campus and Frenchay Campus in collaboration with The Students' Union and UWE Feel Good.
What is MindHarp?
At the leading edge of the HealthTech revolution, MindHarp is an exciting new wellbeing practice, accessible to everyone. It is a unique way to find calm and clarity through engagement with music and sound.
What will the sessions look like?
In each session participants will:
- Experience using music as a mindfulness practice for relaxation and positive mood change
- Discover their innate ‘superpower’ – the in-built musicality all humans are born with
- Realise how much more effortless mindful practice can be with MindHarp, simply by letting music lead
We will work as a group and individually to:
- Learn how to access and use the MindHarp app (on your phone)
- Practice breathing techniques powered by musical sound
- Practice and develop deep listening skills
- Explore our consciousness of how musical sound influences our feelings and mood
- Discover ‘Musitations’ – the musical alternative to meditation
- Discover ‘Groovitations’ – where the goal is to reach a flow state through creative individual and/or duo play
Important information
- All participants need to bring their smartphones and earbuds/headphones to the sessions.
