Description
This friendly and practical session is for students who are new to living or studying in the UK, and/or who don’t speak English as their first language.
You’ll learn how to your lecturers will communicate with you in different ways, how to write a clear and polite email and how to arrange a meeting.
We’ll also talk about what’s expected in the UK university context and how this might be different from what you’re used to. The session includes simple, supportive activities to help you feel more confident.
This workshop will take place online in Microsoft Teams – guidance on using Microsoft Teams is available. The workshop will have interactive elements and we recommend that if possible you use a laptop or PC. You may wish to use an additional mobile device or another tab in your browser for the interactive elements. You can access session materials beforehand from the International Study Skills Week webpage.
